Alexandre Abrantes is a Brazilian creative who hates to talk about himself in the third person.
With over 15 years of experience in advertising, Abrantes has been recognized with some of the most prestigious awards in the industry for brands like Heineken, Vicks, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Budweiser, Discovery Networks, Honda, Citibank and Arno.
In addition to his everyday clients, pro-bono work is something that Abrantes has always valued and dedicated his time to. Among all the work he’s done, he has previously worked with Doctors of The World, creating the tagline for the institution, Indifference is a Disease. Abrantes has also worked with Unicef and FC Barcelona, creating an activation for Spain’s Paralympic Team – where soccer superstar Lionel Messi played a game of Blind Football against the Spanish Blind Football team. And most recently, in 2018, Abrantes had the pleasure of working for Coordown to raise awareness to inclusive education for kids with Down Syndrome.
Originally a copywriter, Abrantes started his career in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Two years later, he left his hometown and moved to São Paulo to work in one of Brazil's biggest agencies. But after 8 years living in São Paulo, he received an offer that would make him change more than agencies: it’d change his life.
So, in 2014, he landed in New York City, where he currently lives and works.
He's fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. And he also speaks a few other languages when he drinks.
